Privacy Policy
MetroScale ("MetroScale", "we", "us") operates a business operating platform for contracting businesses ("the Service"). MetroScale is based in the State of Missouri, USA. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to our websites and to the Service.
1. Information we collect
- Account and contact information — name, email address, phone number, business name, role, and billing details for account holders and authorized users.
- Job and business records — leads, estimates, proposals, job details, schedules, invoices, payments, and vendor bills that our customers enter into or generate on the platform in the course of running their business.
- Communications — the content and metadata of communications handled through the Service, including phone call recordings and transcripts, SMS/text messages, voicemails, emails, and photos or documents submitted as field evidence. Call recordings and message logs are created at the direction of the business using the Service, which is responsible for providing any notices and obtaining any consents that call-recording and monitoring laws require.
- Usage data — log data, device and browser information, IP addresses, and activity on the Service, used to keep the platform secure and working. Our websites use only the cookies needed for sign-in and security; we do not use third-party advertising trackers.
2. How we use information
- Operating, maintaining, and securing the Service.
- Delivering communications our customers request through the platform — for example appointment confirmations, crew coordination texts, estimates, and invoices sent on a contractor's behalf.
- Providing customer support and responding to inquiries.
- Improving the Service, including diagnostics and quality assurance.
- Complying with legal obligations and enforcing our terms.
3. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the Service. We use service providers and subprocessors — such as telephony and messaging carriers, hosting and infrastructure providers, and payment processors — who process information on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law. We never sell personal data.
4. Our role when contractors use the Service
Much of the information on the platform belongs to the contracting businesses that use it: when a contractor manages their customers, crews, and vendors through MetroScale, that business decides what is collected and how it is used, and we process the information on its behalf and on its instructions. If your information was collected by a business using MetroScale, please direct privacy questions and requests to that business; we support our customers in honoring them.
5. SMS/text messaging privacy
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding vendors and aggregators acting solely on our behalf to enable message delivery.
You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply.
6. Data retention
We retain account information for as long as an account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Job records and communications are retained according to our customers' configuration and applicable legal requirements, then deleted or anonymized. Because the Service is built around an auditable record of business activity, some records are retained for the life of the customer relationship unless deletion is requested and legally permissible.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, permission-scoped accounts, and audit logging of actions taken on the platform. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we design the Service so that every access and action is attributable.
8. Children
The Service is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy here and update the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing privacy@metroscale.io. We honor verified requests as required by the laws that apply to you. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. If your information is held in a contractor’s account, we may refer your request to that business and assist them in responding.
